Aloo Bonda (Potato Bonda)
Ingredients
For Potato filling
Oil - 2 to 3 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Boiled Potatoes - 2
Onion - 2 chopped
Green chilli - 1 finely chopped
A few of Garlic cloves
A piece of Ginger
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
A few Coriander leaves
A few Mint leaves
For Batter
Besan/Gram flour - 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Carom seeds - 1/2 tsp
A pinch of Baking soda
A littler Water
Oil for frying
Method:
- Heat Oil in a pan, add Mustard seeds, Onion, Green chilli, Garlic, Ginger & sauté it till onion turns transparent.
- Now, add Turmeric powder, Salt & mix it. Then add boiled mashed Potatoes & mix it well.
- Add the Coriander leaves, Mint leaves & mix it well.
- Now the filling is done, cool the mixture & roll in to small balls.
- For Batter - In a bowl mix Besan/Gram flour, Salt, Chilli powder, Carom seeds, Baking soda & gradually add water while mixing it. It should be a batter consistency.
- Pour enough Oil for deep frying.
- Dip the Potato filling balls in the batter & drop it in the hot oil. Fry this till it turns golden brown colour. Serve hot with Ketchup.
